Artist of the day #5: The Bird and the Bee [

For ethereal pop that isn't Imogen Heap check out The Bird and the Bee.

Her voice is lovely and the music is catchy, sometimes because it's cute and sometimes because it's a little haunting.

Artist of the day #3: Chromeo [

Now I'm not normally one for dance music. . . . but I'll make an exception for Chromeo.
Seriously, check them out if you like amusing Canadian dance/pop.

Here's a sample for your guys:

Artist of the day #2: Belle & Sebastian [

Belle & Sebastian  have been one of the greatest mainstays of my music collection. They are consistently good. Every single album is good, with a few stand out songs on each. Witty, melancholy, and thoughtful their lyrics are always fantastic.  Their songs run the gambit from amusing and a little silly to really quite sad, but they are always good.

One of my favorite songs for you:

Belle & Sebastian - Wrapped up in Books

Artist of the day #1: My Teenage Stride [

My Teenage Stride have ONE FANTASTIC SONG. (the rest. . ehh. .if you like that sort of thing)

Skip past the first two songs listed on their myspace and listen to "To Live and Die in an Airport Lounge"

I'll wait.

I'm always so pleased with that song. It has such a wonderful moving quality. I can never decide if the song it self is happy or sad though. the music makes me smile and want to dance, but the lyrics are melancholy.

Here is a download of the song for you guys <3 I hope you like it as much as i DO~!

Koop [

Listen to Koop.

I almost dont' have anything else to say . . . but I do XD

When you listen to Koop You'll think you are listening to a small orchestra. . and You'll wonder why iTunes has them filed under 'electronic' . . . but don't be fooled! Koop's music is made by piecing together bits of found audio to make their incredibly rich sound. The album also features vocals by Anne Brun, Yukimi Nagano and Earl Zinger. every track is worth your time.

No sendspace links today but many links to their myspace where you can here my favorite two tracks from Koop Islands : 'Come to me' and 'Koop Island Blues'

Music for all and me spamming the little ones all over the place [

so here's a happy music post because I seem to have let i_dodeclare die. I'm posting this there too. . uh. . yeah. . going to try to bring that back~!

If you click on one single link here. . let it be THE LITTLE ONES because they need more love~!

+ Number 1: THE LITTLE ONES: Still my one and only most highly recommended band. You don't have to like any type of music to fall in love with them. Their songs have a perpetually cheerful mood that has a habit of rubbing off on anyone who listens to them. At least give them a try. . . they are so worth the 5 minutes it takes to discover them. (all you have to do is log into myspace to download my two favorite songs ever~!(Chachacha and Ordinary song))

+ Number 2:  VOXTROT:  I'm pretty much at a loss for word to describe Voxtrot. . . A great rolling sort of sound, clever lyrics and catchy songs, add those to a lead singer and loafers and you get Voxtrot~!

+ Number 3: VAMPIRE WEEKEND:  I'm sure everyone and their mom has heard of Vampire Weekend now after their release of the A-Punk video. but . . still they aren't just adorable, love them for their music too~!

+ Number 4: THE MATHLETES: Ok. . normally I'm not enamored with entirely electronic bands. . but Pinochiobot by The Mathletes won me over completely~! What else can I say? I'm a sucker for cute songs, and one about a robot wishing to be a toaster because it's easier is pretty adorable.

+Number 5: VHS OR BETA: first off. . . the name. . amazing? I think so. Normally VHS or BETA are very electronic and trancy, but their most recent album made this fantasic jump to alt. rock/pop which works so well for them. make sure to check out 'Can't Beleive a Single Word'  the fact that they are  pretty hot s motivation yes? (I never expect that voice out of that guy~!)

that's all for now~! hahaha

Expect more music spam. . but I'll try to keep it in i_dodeclare so if you want to join. . .that'd be cool and stuff. . .
